BEIJING — Beijing will introduce mandatory garbage sorting rules at schools, hospitals, office buildings, tourist attractions and hotels, according to the Standing Committee of Beijing Municipal People's Congress, the local legislature, on Wednesday.

北京消息：地方立法機關北京市人大常委會週三表示，今後，北京學校、醫院、商業辦公樓宇、旅遊景區、酒店等將實行垃圾強制分類。

北京市副市長（deputy mayor）張家明表示，北京市在垃圾分類（garbage sorting）方面取得了一定成效。截至目前，北京市推動社會單位，包括1064個學校和271家醫院實施垃圾強制分類，同時，還在528個超市和購物（shopping malls）中心以及446個旅遊景點（tourist attractions）開展了垃圾強制分類。
對於目前還存在的問題，北京市人大城市建設環境保護委員會（Urban Construction and Environmental Protection Committee）主任委員郝志蘭指出，垃圾分類（sorting waste）尚未成爲居民的普遍行動和生活習慣（habit）。
張家明表示，到2019年底，北京將在全市500個行政村（incorporated villages）開展垃圾分類和回收（recycling），實現全市97%的行政村生活垃圾（household garbage）得到有效治理（properly treated），完成全市162處非正規垃圾堆放點75%的治理任務。
據住房和城鄉建設部（Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development）2月發佈的消息，2019年起，全國地級及以上城市（cities at or above the prefecture level）要全面啓動生活垃圾分類（household garbage sorting）工作。
