Yunnan University is a state key university listed in the national“Project 211”gaining preferential support in their construction and development from the Central Government. Yunnan University has now developed into a key national institute of higher education with a large group of academic professionals offering all the courses covered by the complete curricula in the fields of liberal arts，history，philosophy，management，law, science，technology.

雲南大學是國家“211工程”重點建設大學。已經建設成擁有一批專家學者，涵蓋文、史、哲、經、管、法、理、工8大學科門類的全國重點高等學府。

Yunnan University is situated in the city of Kunming-the provincial capital of Yunnan，occupying an area of 140 hectares in which 810 000 square meters are of the classrooms and other teaching-related buildings. The library has a collection of more than 2. 51 million volumes

學校位於雲南省會昆明市，佔地面積140公頃，公用校舍建築面積81萬平方米;固定資產137 444萬元;圖書館藏書251多萬冊。

The students currently studying on the campus of Yunnan University have reached 19 872 persons，of whom 9 919 are the full-time undergraduate students，4 493 are postgraduate students(555 Ph. D. candidates and 3 938 master candi-dates)e are also 19 607 students of adult education.

目前，雲南大學有全日制在校生19 872人，其中全日制本科學生9 919人，研究生4 493人(博士555人，碩士3 938人)，在職攻讀碩士研究生2 449人，研究生進修班555人，各類成人教育學生19 607人。

Yunnan ersity retains a faculty and working staff of 2 372，and among them 1 981 persons are the specialized professionals(of which 297 persons are full professors，480 are associate professors，and 987 are full-time average age of all the employees of Yunnan University is 40. Among the faculty of Yunnan University 683 persons are the instructors who have respectively obtained their doctorate or master's degrees.

雲南大學有教職員工2 372人，其中專職教學科研人員1 981人(含正高職297人，副高職480人，987專任教師)。教職工平均年齡40歲，683位老師均具有博士和碩士學位。

Yunnan University currently has the following fifteen schools，college and institute under its administration offering 65 undergraduate programs，2 state key disciplines，27 provincial key disciplines，3 first-category Ph. D. degree programs，50 second-category Ph. D. degree programs，4 post-doctorate research stations，15I master degree programs and 4 professional master degree programs of MPA，MBA，law and engineering. In addition，it has a state model college of software，3 national bases for the basic scientific research and the training of the talented teaching personnel，a cultivation base of life science and technology innovation of the Ministry of Education，a state research base of humanities and social sciences，3 provincial and ministerial key laboratories，a state development and research center for new products and 2 provincial cultivation base of high-and-new-tech and innovation talents.

雲南大學擁有15個學院、研究院;65個本科專業，2個國家級重點學科，27個省級重點學科，3個一級學科博士學位授權點，50個二級學科博士學位授權點，4個博士後科研流動站，151個碩士學位授權點和MPA , MBA、法律、工程等4個專業碩士授權點;此外，擁有一個國家示範性軟件學院，3個國家基礎科學研究與教學人才培養基地，一個教育部生命科學與技術創新人才培養基地，一個國家人文社科重點研究基地，3個省部級重點實驗室，一個國家級新產品開發研究中心，2個省級高新技術創新人才一培養基地。

歷史變遷

1922 Private Donglu University, the predecessor Yunnan University, was founded.

1922年雲南大學的前身私立東陸大學始建。

1930 It was reorganized as Provincial Donglu University.

1930年學校改組爲省立東陸大學。

1934 It was renamed Provincial Yunnan University.

1934年改爲省立雲南大學。

1938 It was renamed National Donglu University.

1938年改爲國立東陸大學。

1950 It was renamed Yunnan University.

1950年改爲雲南大學。
