基本概況

OceanUniversity of China(OUC) is a comprehensive university under the direct administration of the State Ministry of Education，which offers courses in Science，Engineering，Agronomy(Fisheries)，Economics，Liberal Arts，Pharmaceutics，Management, Law, Education and History，etc. This university is especially renowned for its disciplines in Oceanography and Fisheries and has been approved as one of the universities with“Project 211”and“Project 985”for intensive construction of their key disciplines.

中國海洋大學是一所以海洋和水產學科爲特色，包括理學、工學、農(水產)學、經濟學、文學、醫(藥)學、管理學、法學、教育學和歷史學等學科門類較爲齊全的教育部直屬重點綜合性大學，是國家“985工程”和“211工程”重點建設高校之一。

The University，located in Qirigdao of Shandong Province，consists of three campuses and occupies an area of 200 hectares with a total classroom and office space of 940 000 square meters.

學校位於山東省青島市，轄三個校區，佔地200公頃，教師及辦公室等建築面積94萬平方米。

The University has 22 faculties and colleges(schools ) one of the first universities approved to confer degrees at all levels and also approved by the State Academic Degree Committee to entitle Ph. D. supervisors，OUC now provides 6 firstcategory disciplines for Ph. D. degrees，44 doctorate programs，16 first-category disciplines for master's degrees，131 programs for master's degrees，one MBA，one MPA and master's degrees in 13 areas of specialized engineering. The University owns 5 national key disciplines，one National Research Center for Marine Pharmaceutical Engineering Technology，one UNESCO Chinese Center of Marine Biotechnology，6 key laboratories of the Ministry of Education，9 provincial level key disciplines and 6 provincial level key laboratories. In addition，there are 8 disciplines which provide professorship of“Cheung Kong Scholars Programs” was the first university approved by the State as the bases for fundamental research and teaching staff training in Oceanography，Marine Chemistry and Life Science& Technology.

中國海洋大學設有22個學部及院(系)，是國務院學位委員會首批批准的具有博士、碩士、學士學位授予權的單位。目前，學校已擁有6個博士學位授權一級學科、44個博士學位授權點、16個碩士學位授權一級學科、131個碩士學位授權點、一個工商管理碩士(MBA)專業學位授權點、一個公共管理碩士(MPA)專業學位授權點、13個領域具有專業工程碩士學位授予權，擁有5個國家級重點學科，一個國家海洋藥物工程技術研究中心，一個聯合國教科文組織中國海洋生物工程中心，6個教育部重點實驗室，9個省級重點學科和6個省級重點實驗室。此外，8個學科設有“長江學者獎勵計劃”特聘教授崗位，擁有兩個國家基礎科學研究和教學人才培養基地—海洋學、海洋化學和一個國家生命科學與技術人才培養基地。

The University has over 21 000 registered students，including 5 000 doctoral or master's degree students，over 10 200 undergraduates and 1 200 international students.

學校現有在冊各類學生2. 1萬餘人，其中博士、碩士研究生5 000餘人，本科生10 200餘人，留學生1 200餘人。

OUC has currently a total number of more than 2 300 faculty members and administrative staffs members. Among them there are 8 academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering，10 recipients of National Outstanding Youth Foundation，9 young and middle-age experts with outstanding contributions at the national level，8 specially-invited and lecture professors of "Cheungkong Scholars Program”，more than 20 teachers selected by national "Millions of Talents Program"，97 experts enjoying government special allowance and more than 200 Ph. D. supervisors

學校現有教職工2 300人，包括8名院士(其中雙聘院士3名),10名國家傑出青年基金獲得者、9名國家有突出貢獻中青年專家、8名教育部“長江學者獎勵計劃”特聘教授和講座教授、20餘名“百千萬人才工程”高層次人才計劃人選者、97名國務院政府特殊津貼享受者、200餘名博士生導師。

The University boasts an advanced laboratory center, which has over 70 laboratories for teaching and experiments，occupies a total area of 10 000 square meters. There is also“Dong Fang Hong 2"，a research vessel with a displacement of 3 500 tons. The ship can be used for both teaching and scientific research. The University Library has established an international comprehensive data base of foreign languages in marine science and fisheries，which has become a national document-searching and information center of marine science.

學校擁有先進的試驗中心，包含70餘個教學與科研相結合、具有不同專業特色的實驗室，面積達一萬平方米。擁有供教學、科研使用的3 500噸級海洋綜合調查船—東方紅2號。學校圖書館已建成國際上較爲全面的海洋、水產學科外文數據庫，成爲全國海洋科學文獻檢索和信息資料中心。

1924 Private Qingdao University，the predecessor of OUC，was founded.

1924年中國海洋大學的前身私立青島大學始建。

1932 It was renamed National Shandong University.

193?年更名爲國立山東大學。

1959 It was renamed Shandong College of Oceanography.

1959年更名爲山東海洋學院。

1988 It was renamed Ocean University of Qingdao.

1988年更名爲青島海洋大學。

2002 It was renamed Ocean University of China.

2002年更名爲中國海洋大學。
