Automaker FAW - Volkswagen has become the target of envy as news spread online of the company's plans to give out year-end bonuses equaling 27 months of salaries, Guangzhou Daily reported Thursday.
據廣州日報週四報道，網上一條一汽大衆將發放相當於27個月工資的年終獎，招來一片“羨慕嫉妒恨”。
“年終獎”的英文是year-end bonus，文中的year-end bonuses是其複數形式。FAW的全稱是First Automobile Workshop，即“第一汽車製造廠”；Volkswagen是德國的汽車品牌大衆，其縮寫爲VW。
The company confirmed the news but said it was not that much as they based the bonus on the basic salary, which is 3,000 yuan ($466) per month. Basic salary accounts for one-third of the total payroll for the company, the report said.
一汽大衆證實了該條消息，但是稱是以3000元(466美元)的月基本工資作爲獎金發放的基數，所以實際並沒有那麼多。報道稱，一汽大衆公司員工的基本工資佔工資總額的三分之一。
Payroll是公司支付給員工的工資總額，員工工資總額一般由basic salary（基本工資）和bonus（獎金）組成。
