E聊吧第29期:憂鬱"藍色"系
Hello ladies and gentlemen. This is Ukki here for you today. Do you still remember what we talked about yesterday? Actually, we talked about the word "pink" yesterday. The first one is "feel in the pink", if someone feel in the pink means he or she is in the good health. Then the second one is "tickled pink". I'm tickled pink means I am very pleased, I am delighted.
以上昨天，也就是上一期節目我們所學習的一些關於pink的一些有趣的英語表達。
粉色屬暖色調，藍色屬冷色調，明亮的粉色和沉靜的藍色恰是一組對比色。而由pink構成的習慣用語的含義和由blue發展成的習慣用語的含義也恰恰相反。Pink表達的是喜氣洋洋的良好感覺，而blue用語比喻低落憂鬱的情緒。今天的“E聊吧”我們一起來聊聊跟“blue”這個詞有關的一些英語表達。
feel blue
人的情緒時起時伏，feel blue 的意思是：be depressed or sad 心情悶悶不樂，情緒鬱鬱寡歡。
例句：I woke up feeling blue and I've been feeling blue all day. I don't know why: everything's okay with me. Maybe it's this terrible weather—cold and rainy for five whole days in a row! 我一早醒來就心情不好，接着一整天都悶悶不樂。我都不知道是什麼緣故，因爲我的一切情況都正常。也許是由於這討厭的氣候；整整一連五天都是沒完沒了的陰雨天氣！
sing the blues: cry the blues
有一種情調感傷的美國黑人歌曲，就稱爲the blues藍調，但習慣用語sing the blues或者cry the blues 不能按照字面意思解釋爲吟唱藍調或者大唱藍調，而是to complain 訴苦的意思。
例句：I just spent two hours listening to Bill sing the blues about his girl friend leaving him for some other guys. I feel sorry for him but he ought to forget it: after all, it happened two years ago.
我剛花了整整兩小時聽Bill訴說女朋友怎麼甩掉他跟了別人的傷心事。我當然爲Bill 感到難過，但是我覺得Bill該把這事丟在腦後了，因爲這畢竟是兩年前的往事了。
Sing the blues和cry the blues意思都是訴苦，一吐胸中的愁悶，而feel blue和它們不同的是煩惱壓抑在胸中。
