該調查於8月至10月進行，調查對象爲資產達150萬美元（own at least 1.5 million USD）的中國富人（rich people），目前中國此類人羣的數量爲134萬人。
調查顯示，約80萬人（60%中國富人）計劃在海外投資房產（invest in land property in foreign countries）並移民外國。
胡潤百富公司總裁兼首席研究員胡潤強調：“今年的趨勢正在超出移民範疇，更多與全球資產配置（Global Asset Allocation）有關。中國富人們現在的主要目標（major goal）是在將三分之一財富佈局海外（distribute 1/3 of their wealth overseas），購買房產（land-purchase）和國外存款（bank-savings）是優先選擇（preferred choices）。”
報告顯示，中國富人最普遍的移民（migrate）去向是美國，排名前五的國家還有英國、加拿大、澳大利亞和新加坡。影響富人選擇的主要因素（major factors influencing the choice）是教育、投資環境（investment environment）、移民政策（immigration policy）、稅收（taxation）、醫療服務（medical condition）、簽證要求（visa requirements）和中國移民的適應難度（how hard it is to adapt to the target country）。
