大家都知道count有“數，計數”的意思，其實它還有很多意思哦~~如“認可，算數”。
來看個例句大家就明白了，也很容易記憶了。
See how many plates we have, but don't count in the cracked ones.
看看我們有多少個盤子，但不要算有裂紋的。
count noses: 數人數
這個短語原來是爲了知道有馬匹的數量而“數鼻子”，現在幾乎所有的場合都是用來指“數人數”。
We'd better count noses to see how many drinks we'll have to serve after the meeting.
我們最好是數一下人數，看看在開會之後要準備多少份飲料。
To make sure no members of the tour get lost, the tourist guide count noses every time they get back on the bus.
爲確保沒有遊客走失，導遊在每次回到公交車時都要數一下人數。
另外take a head count也有“數腦袋”之意，不過兩者的區別是take a head count的使用範圍比較廣，例如在數贊成和反對的票數時，一般不用count noses，而用take a head count，比如：
We took a head count to decide the issue.
爲決定此事，我們數了一下贊成和反對的票數。
Count one's chickens before they hatch.
直譯過來就是“雞還沒有孵出來，就先數雞的數量”，有“高興的太早啦”之意。
大家可以想象一下媽媽訓斥想要中途退學的兒子：
Do you really think you can find a job as easily as that? If you ask me, you're counting your chickens before they hatch.
你真的以爲你能那麼輕易的找到工作嗎？要我說，你的如意算盤打得太早了。
另外大家還比較熟悉的一個詞就是countdown（倒計時）。
Count me in.
把我也算在內。
相反的就是out。如：
The old lady counted out thirty pence and gave it to the shop assistant.
老太婆一個個地數出三十便士給了售貨員。
