Expressions: off the hook

Explanation: Freed from an obligation. （脫身，擺脫困境）

Usage:它通常和get連用，即爲：get someone off the hook，意思是：幫助某人脫離險境，幫助某人逃脫責任等。

e.g. At first, Sam was suspected of stealing money from the safe, but he was let off the hook after security camera footage showed it was someone else.

起初，薩姆被懷疑從保險櫃裏偷錢，但監控錄像顯示是別人乾的，於是他就沒有罪責了。

e.g. ——I thought you had that big work event tonight. —— No, it got canceled, so I'm off the hook.

—— 我以爲你今晚有個重要的工作活動。—— 不，它被取消了，所以我就沒事了。

e.g. Thanks for getting me off the hook. I didn't want to attend that meeting.
