關於元宵的故事A legend tells the origin of eating yuanxiao on the night of the first full moon after the lunar New Year. The goddess of the moon，Chang'e swallowed a magic potion belonging to her husband and flew to the moon to become a fairy. Her husband, Houyi, missed her so much that he became ill. So on the eve ofthe first full moon after his illness,the goddess sent a young fairy to Houyi,telling him that she would descend to earth to be with him, but he should first make sticky rice balls in the shape of the round moon and put them on the table. Then he had to repeat her name over and over until she appeared.
一個傳說告訴我們在農曆新年後的第一個月圓之夜吃元宵的起源。月亮女神嫦娥吞下屬於她丈夫的一種神奇藥水，飛往月球，成爲一個仙女。她的丈夫后羿，非常想念她，所以他病倒了。因此，在他病後的第一個月圓之際，女神派出了年輕的仙人來告訴后羿，她會下凡和他在一起，但他首先要把糯米做成球，像圓圓的月亮的形狀並把它們放在桌子上。然後，他必須一遍又一遍地重複她的名字，直到她出現。No one knows whether she reunited with her husband or not,but this is how yuanxiao gained popularity.
