印度總理訪越將強化印越安全關係

India’s prime minister is to visit Vietnam to strengthen growing security ties in response to both countries’ fears about China’s regional territorial ambitions.

印度總理即將訪問越南，加強兩國之間日益密切的安全關係。印度和越南這麼做，是爲了應對它們對於中國地區領土野心的擔憂。

Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet the top four national leaders in Hanoi on Saturday as New Delhi seeks to counter what it sees as Beijing’s efforts to encircle India with military bases in South Asia.

納倫德拉•莫迪(Narendra Modi)計劃於週六會見越南4位最高層領導人。印度正尋求對抗北京方面以南亞軍事基地包圍印度的努力。

Mr Modi is due to hold talks with Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Vietnam’s new prime minister, as well as meetings with the country’s president, national assembly chairman, and Nguyen Phu Trong, the powerful ruling Communist party general secretary.

莫迪將會見越南新總理阮春福(Nguyen Xuan Phuc)、國家主席、國會主席以及強大的執政黨共產黨的總書記阮富仲(Nguyen Phu Trong)。

The two nations are also expected to sign a $100m deal for India to build high-speed patrol boats for Vietnam.

預計兩國還將簽署一份價值1億美元、由印度爲越南製造高速巡邏艇的協議。

Two other items likely to be high on the agenda are a plan to base Indian naval ships in Vietnam and Hanoi’s long-pending request to buy BrahMos short-range cruise missiles jointly developed by India and Russia.

另外兩個可能很重要的議題分別是，一項讓印度軍艦進駐越南的計劃，以及越南長期以來尋求的購買印俄聯合開發的布拉莫斯(BrahMos)近程巡航導彈的要求。

It emerged earlier this year that New Delhi also has plans to set up a satellite tracking and imaging centre in South Vietnam, giving Hanoi access to data from Indian satellites in return.

今年早些時候有消息稱，印度還打算在越南南部建立一個衛星跟蹤與成像中心，作爲回報，越南將可以使用來自印度衛星的數據。
