比如 a blank paper 是“一張白紙”。

sth. looks blank 是“看起來沒啥希望”、“看起來暗淡”。

而 blank cheque 則是“空白支票”。

另外，它其實也能用來做名詞，商務英語裏有個說法叫 be a blank，它表示“頭腦處於空白狀態”。

I'm totally a blank about this.

我對這件事真的完全搞不懂。

I was a blank during that meeting.

那個會上我腦子一片空白。
