to boot: moreover; in addition to. Kristen's an amazing girl, and sexy to boot!
sophisticated: having a refined knowledge of the ways of the world cultivated especially through wide experience，也就是說見過世面的，有閱歷的。這是一個很容易被誤譯的單詞，字典裏給出的解釋是“詭辯的, 久經世故的”，但其實這個單詞可以是褒義詞（如同在這句話的解釋），也可以是貶義詞，解釋爲deprived of native or original simplicity，即“老於世故”的，但後者出現的情況不是很多。

Serena 去找Chuck, 正好碰見那個日本空姐，於是就聊起Chuck糜爛的sex life，只見Chuck一臉鬱悶狀，Serena恍然大悟，原來Chuck最近在sex方面是“屢敗屢戰，屢戰屢敗”。Chuck解釋說是因爲有些 blockage，他想到了找Blair來clear the pipes.
關鍵的地方來了。blockage本意是阻塞，你家的水管堵住了，就用blockage.而clear the pipe就是疏通管道。上文和下文是對應的，但這裏用的是字面意思背後的metaphor. pipe, 可以用來指dick(omg, 希望沒有人再用Dick這個英文名字了)，而clear the pipe就是指you receive an orgasm from a girl; usually its when you haven't received sex in a while. 另外說一下，pipe這個單詞除了指dick, 還可以用來指blow job, 來源據說是法語裏一摸一樣拼寫的pipe, 讀做"peep". (恩…這些單詞都是當年看sex and the city學來的)
至於後面Serena叫Chuck不要把Blair當作是sexual Drano, 這裏的Drano是一個排水管清潔劑的品牌，人家的作用就是用來clear the pipes的。

-He stood me up, remember?
He stood me up: 放我鴿子，讓我空等一場。後面Vanessa看見Catherine和Nate在一起，就質問Is that the reason you keep canceling on me? 這句話也可以表示放鴿子的意思。
另外stand up for sb.可以解釋爲support. 後面有一個場景，Dan在公園裏遇到三個小妹妹，很老成的在評論Dan與Serena複合的事情，其中有個小姑娘說Your whole breakup? We're on your side. 這句We’re on your side意思是“我們站在你這一邊”，和stand up for是一個意思。

I got us a room at the Mercer. We can order in.
order in在這裏是指點酒店的room service, 在房間裏吃飯。日常生活中這個單詞表示“叫外賣”。take out則是表示外帶的意思，在快餐店裏點餐，服務員會問你for here or to go, 或者for here or take-out? for here就是堂吃，to go或者take-out就是外帶。而打包叫做wrap up，至於問服務員要打包的盒子，那就叫做doggy bag了。至於爲什麼要叫狗食袋，一種說法是最早美國人在餐廳吃剩下的東西，不好意思打包，怕別人覺得自己小氣，於是就會問服務員要一個袋子，說是帶回去給自己家的狗吃。久而久之，doggy bag就變成打包袋/盒的代名詞了。

-You know, and if we just start telling people...
- What? What could anybody possibly say that would change this?
- You're right. I'm in.
不要小看I'm in這個短語，雖然簡單，用處卻很多。在這裏表示“你是對的，就聽你的吧”，在其他地方還可以表示“加入一個團隊，加入一個活動”。比如你朋說週末組織一場籃球賽，你打算參加，你就可以說I'm in. 又比如你們謀劃什麼大行動，你大義凜然的說“算上我”，那也叫做I'm in.

Oh, this is awesome! You guys totally belong together.
這句話出現在Marcus撞見Blair與Chuck接吻的場景裏，原意是“你們兩個真是絕配啊”，根據說話語氣不同，表達的含義也不一樣。這裏肯定是貶義 “你們兩個極品，真是太配了”，在其他場合也可以是出於真心的讚美“你們真是天造地設的一對”，相當於說You guys are a perfect match.

-So when am I gonna get to see you again?
-Depends. Can I count on you not to cancel at the last second?
depends: 看情況吧
count on: 依靠，指望，也可以說rely on或者depend on. 它的否定句Don’t count on it也很常用，相當於“你別想了，別指望了，沒戲了”。

Duchess, it's me. He's bringing her. And for the record, whatever you're planning with Nate, my bedroom floor is off-limits.
for the record: 一種用法是“必須指出，讓我提醒你”，就是這句話裏的含義。另外一個用法就是按照它的字面解釋“正式記錄在案，有記錄可查的”。還有一個詞組也很常用，就是off the record, 解釋爲“祕密的，不被記錄的”，比如警察要盤問線人套資料，他跟線人說“你說的話不會紀錄在案，不會被追究責任”，那麼就可以說It’s off the record.

手機沒電：My phone died. 沒電也可以說dead battery.

positive相當於sure, tag along尾隨，跟隨
No offense: 無意冒犯。當你要說一些比較直接但又是事實的話（比如說對方很boring,或者很胖之類的），就會先說no offense——我無意冒犯，不過我們就事論事的說……
third wheel: 就是第三者啦

這個出現在比較開頭的部分，Marucs幫忙Blair準備party,Blair在客廳裏挑逗他。其中提到的Atonement（贖罪），是Keira Knightley和James McAvoy一起主演的電影，其中有個場景就是他們兩人在家裏的圖書館裏發生sex，並且被女主人公的妹妹撞見，由此引發了後面的悲劇……anyway，個人認爲Keira Knightley在這一段裏穿綠色長裙的形象是非常stunning的。這部電影及它的原著，都很值得一看。
Ralph Lauren adores you.
發生在Cathrine帶Nate去買衣服的那個場景。Ralph Lauren是衣服品牌，最著名的就是它的POLO衫了。Friends裏的Rachel就在這個公司工作，其中有一集Ralph還親自客串，和Rachel同搭一部電梯。
Relax. Nothing happened with Madame Butterfly.
Chuck找了一個日本空姐，當時管家還很嘲的說"Sir, the flight from tokyo has landed." Madame Butterfly就是蝴蝶夫人，這位蝴蝶夫人在歌劇裏就是一個日本人。
No, Nate. There are no "but"s. You lied to me, And you're sleeping with some Mrs. Robinson.
這段話是Vanessa說Nate的。這位nson出自電影《畢業生》——已婚婦女nson挑逗大學生Ben並與之發生關係。想來我也是因爲這部電影而學會seduce這個單詞的。
