'How has ... been so far?'是用來詢問某事進展如何得常見表達,其他常見的表達還有:
How is... going?
Is ... going well?
How is ... coming along?

2. Were you able to fit a tour of the city in?

'fit sb/sth in'的意思就是"找到時間見某人或者是做某事", to find time to see sb or to do sth.
I'll try and fit you in after lunch. 我儘量午飯後抽時間見你.
原文中的那句也可以表達爲:Did you have time to to take a tour of the city?

'run smoothly'就是進展順利的意思.

'win sb over'就是贏得某人支持,說服某人的意思,相當於convince.
She's against the idea but I'm sure I can win her over. 她反對這一想法,但我相信我能把她爭取過來.
另外,那個professionalism也要注意下.
