A: What are you worrying about?

B: I am worrying about my husband.

B: You know, he is a taxi driver. He has to have his eyes peeled all the time when he drives, especially during the rush hour.

解詞釋義：
這裏peeled是動詞peel的過去分詞，它的本義是“剝皮”，在該短語中做賓語的補足語，補充說明eyes的情況。美國人常用這個短語來形容一個人在危險的時候常常睜大眼睛注意周圍危險的情況，意即：提高警覺，提高警惕等。有的時候，描述那些做壞事的罪犯也會用到這個詞語。
