A Chinese surveying team reached the summit of Mount Qomolangma on Wednesday morning to conduct a series of surveys on the pinnacle of the planet.

週三上午，一支中國測量隊登頂珠峯，在“地球之巔”開展一系列測量工作。

中國測量隊（surveying team）成功登頂珠峯（reached the summit of Mount Qomolangma），標誌着中國在重新測量世界最高峯（remeasure the height of the world's highest peak）的高難度任務中邁出關鍵一步（crucial step），科學家相信這將提高人類對自然的認識（enhance human knowledge of nature），並有助於促進科學發展（boost scientific development）。
登頂後，隊員們開始在積雪的峯頂（snow-covered peak）上豎起測量標誌（erect a survey marker），測量面積不到20平方米的峯頂。
2020珠峯高程測量登山隊8名隊員，於27日2時10分許，從海拔（altitude）8300米的突擊營地（assault camp）出發（set off），向着頂峯挺進。27日11時，測量登山隊成功登頂珠峯（successfully arrived at the summit）。
據瞭解，測量登山隊員登頂後，在峯頂立起測量覘標（surveyor's beacon），使用全球導航衛星系統接收機（global navigation satellite system receiver）通過北斗衛星進行高精度定位測量，使用雪深雷達探測儀探測了峯頂雪深，並使用重力儀（gravimeter）進行了重力測量。
2020年，是人類首次從北坡成功登頂珠峯60週年（the 60th anniversary of the first successful expedition to Qomolangma from the Tibet side），同時也是中國首次精確測定並公佈珠峯高程45週年（the 45th anniversary of China's first accurate measurement of Qomolangma's height）。
2020珠峯高程測量工作（measurement）由自然資源部會同外交部、國家體育總局和西藏自治區政府（the regional government of the Tibet autonomous region）聯合組織。
中國自然資源部第一大地測量隊（the 1st Geodetic Surveying Brigade）測繪人員與中國登山隊（China Mountaineering Team）共同組成2020珠峯高程測量登山隊，承擔這一挑戰性任務。
新中國成立（the founding of the People's Republic of China）以來，我國測繪工作者（surveyors）已對珠峯進行過6次大規模的測繪（scaled measurement）和科考工作（scientific research），並先後於1975年和2005年兩次成功測定並公佈珠峯高程（released the height of the peak），分別爲8848.13米和8844.43米。
