戛納電影節：亞洲電影打“翻身仗”
在日前開幕的戛納電影節上，中國導演賈樟柯的《江湖兒女》將參與金棕櫚獎的角逐，這是賈樟柯導演的作品第五次入圍主競賽單元。中國導演畢贛和王兵的《地球最後的夜晚》和《死靈魂》分別入圍“一種關注”單元和特別展映單元。這是中國電影離戛納最近的一次。其他亞洲國家的電影也表現不俗，共有6部亞洲電影入圍主競賽單元。

戛納電影節共有九個競賽單元：
1. Compétition (In Competition) 主競賽單元
主競賽單元是戛納電影節的主要活動，在該環節展映的影片將角逐電影節各類獎項，其中的最高榮譽——金棕櫚獎（Palme d'Or, Golden Palm）能爲獲獎影片帶來可觀的票房收入和全球關注及發行渠道。該單元一般只接受敘事類影片，不過偶爾也會有紀錄片闖入。
2. Hors Compétition (Out of Competition) 非競賽單元
非競賽單元嚴格來說並不是戛納電影節的正式組成部分，不過在電影節創辦之初，這個環節就一直存在。在該環節展映的影片多是未能達到參與競賽單元標準（meet the criteria for entering the competition）。
3. Un Certain Regard (A Certain Regard) 一種關注單元
一種關注單元創立於1978年，意在吸收一些難以歸類的小衆影片。該單元創立之初並未設立獎項，不過近幾年也開始頒發“一種關注”獎。
4. Cinéfondation 電影基金會單元
電影基金會單元在1998年成爲戛納電影節的一部分，主要展映全球電影學院製作的中、短片。該單元有自己的評選委員會，並且會對該環節獲獎的前三名頒發現金獎勵。
5. Cannes Classics 戛納經典單元
戛納經典單元創立於2004年，主要是利用修復的膠捲放映一些經典影片，向全球電影發行公司、版權所有者、電影資料館，以及國家檔案庫的工作成果致敬。
6. Semaine Internationale de la Critique (SIC) (International Critics' Week) 國際影評人週
國際影評人週由法國影評人工會創立於1962年，是戛納電影節最古老的一個單元，主要關注電影界新人的作品。該單元主要包括14部由初次或二次製作電影的新人制作的故事片或短片角逐獎項，以及特別放映環節。參賽電影由影評人週提名的國際影評人小組選出，獲獎者會得到現金獎勵。
7. Quinzaine des Réalisateurs (The Directors' Fortnight) 導演雙週
導演雙週由一羣法國導演於1968年創立，目的是在不受政治、審查和精英主義影響下放映影片。
8. Marché du Film (The Film Market) 電影市場
電影市場是電影節舉辦的終極目標，所有電影從業人員彙集一處，商談與電影有關的各種交易。
9. L'ACID (the Association du Cinema Independent pour sa Diffusion) 獨立電影推廣協會
該環節由獨立電影推廣協會贊助，旨在爲獨立電影尋找全球發行渠道。該環節被納入戛納電影節已超過16年，不過在最近幾年纔得到電影節的官方認可。獨立電影推廣協會單元每年會放映9部尚未在全球發行過的故事影片。

Other significant Asian films vying for the Palme d'Or this year including two Iranian and Japanese films, among which famous Iranian director Asghar Farhadi's Everybody Knows was screened at the opening.
