日本作家村上春樹拒絕新文學獎提名

Japanese writer Haruki Murakami has requested that his nomination for a new literature prize be withdrawn.

日本作家村上春樹日前請求撤銷一個新設立的文學獎項的提名。

Murakami was named in August as one of 4 finalists for the New Academy Prize in Literature, which was created after the Swedish Academy decided not to award a Nobel Prize in literature this year amid a sexual harassment scandal.

今年8月，村上獲“新文學獎”提名，成爲4名最終候選人之一。陷入性騷擾醜聞的瑞典學院決定今年不頒發諾貝爾文學獎，繼而設立了“新文學獎”。

The other nominees for the alternative prize are British-born author Neil Gaiman, Guadeloupe-born Maryse Conde and Vietnam-born Kim Thuy.

這一替代獎項的其他幾位提名者分別是英裔作家尼爾·蓋曼、瓜德羅普裔作家瑪麗斯·孔戴和越南裔作家金翠。

Swedish journalists and writers created the prize as a single-year stopgap award.

瑞典的記者們和作家們將其設立爲“僅限於今年”的獎項。

The organizer of the prize, the New Academy, says Murakami expressed his gratitude for the nomination but he added that he prefers to concentrate on his writing.

該獎項的組織者“新學院”表示，村上對獲得提名錶示感謝，但稱自己更想專注於寫作。

The winner will be announced on Oct 12, after the Nobel Prize winners have been named. The award ceremony will be on Dec 9, the day before the Nobel Prize ceremony.

“新文學獎”的獲獎者將在其它諾貝爾獎獲獎人選揭曉後，於10月12日公佈。頒獎典禮將在諾貝爾獎頒獎儀式前一天的12月9日舉行。
