情態動詞can和be able to, may
1.情態動詞can 和be able to
can 和be able to 都可以表示有某種能力，但can只能用於現在時和過去時（could）,而be able to 可以用於任何時態。
I can do this job. 我能做這個工作。
I will be able to do this job soon. 我很快就能做這個工作。
如果表示“成功地做了謀事”時，只能用was/were able to，例如：
He was able to flee the country before the war broke out. 在戰爭爆發之前，他成功地逃離了這個國家。
2.情態動詞may
may 表示允許或請求，和沒有把握的推測。當may放在句首，表示祝願。

might 是may的過去時，但在表示推測時，不表示過去的時態，只是might表示的可能性比may小。
