3. repress verb. 剋制; 壓抑

*用法同therefore，但thus更口語化。

5. *辨析 capacity & ability & capability

很多時候可通用。

對人而言，capacities是天生的，而abilities是後天習得的。

*capacity 容量，能量

The vehicle’s fuel capacity is 120 gallons.

這輛汽車的汽油容量是120加侖。

*capability可理解爲是ability的極致。

ability 能力

capability 能耐

I have the ability to write, I don’t have the capability to write a novel.

我有能力寫作，但沒有能耐寫出一本小說。
