If something rings a bell for you, it means you remember something.

如果你說某事rings a bell，意思就是你記起了某事

In our example, a name seemed familiar.

In everyday life, bells are often used to remind us to do things.

在日常生活中，鈴聲經常用於提醒某物。

For example, school bells ring to let students know it is time for class.
