英國自年3月起禁止歐盟公民自由進入

The automatic right of European Union (EU) citizens to live and work in Britain will end in March 2019 with Brexit, Prime Minister Theresa May's spokesman said recently.

英國首相特雷莎·梅的發言人於日前表示，隨着英國脫歐，歐盟公民自動獲得的在英生活和工作的權力也將於2019年3月終結。

The spokesman said that the government had already set out some details including proposals on EU citizens' rights after Brexit.

該發言人稱，英國政府已制訂出部分細節，包括有關退歐後在英歐盟公民權益的提案。

"Other elements of the post-Brexit immigration system will be brought forward in due course."

“退歐後移民體系的其他細節將按時制訂完成。”

"It would be wrong to speculate on what these might look like or to suggest that free movement will continue as it is now," he said.

The British government has for years failed to meet a pledge to reduce net migration to below 100,000 a year.

May's spokesman said it would take time to get the numbers down, but the government was committed to doing so.
