1.劇中：keep it real short
real short ：很快的，時間很短的，等於short
e.g.<1> I’m not staying long, this visit’s going to be real short.
我不在這呆長了，我在這的時間很短。
<2>OK, everybody, let’s keep this meeting real short so we can all get home for dinner.
好，大家聽着，我們這個會很快就結束，這樣大家就可以回家吃飯了。
2．run a tight ship ：對人或者事情很嚴格很嚴厲 means you are very strict
e.g. <1>My mother runs a tight ship; she makes me mop the floor every day.
我媽媽對我要求很嚴格，要我天天拖地。
<2>Coach makes us run 10kms before very practice. He runs a tight ship.
教練讓我們每次比賽前跑10千米，他真的很嚴格。
3．get snippy (with sb.) ： to be rude 尖刻，無理，粗暴
e.g. <1>My girlfriend gets snippy when I tell her I’m going out with the boys.
當我告訴我女朋友我要和那些男生出去的時候，我女朋友變得很粗暴。
<2>Just because you don’t get your way, it doesn’t mean you have to get snippy.
事情不按你想的那樣進行並不意味着你就得這麼粗暴。
