爲了緩解夫妻之間因爲一時衝動草率離婚的現狀，浙江省慈溪市民政局4月出臺了“預約離婚登記制度”。三個月多過去了，約有40%預約離婚的夫妻最終沒有辦離婚手續。

Couples are told to make an appointment at least seven days after they file for a divorce. More than 40 percent of those who came to the bureau to get a divorce in April, May and June didn't return for their final appointments.
提出離婚的夫妻被告知要辦理至少7天以後的預約登記。4月到6月期間辦理預約的夫妻有40%最終都沒有來辦理離婚登記。
Make an appointment就是“預約”，這裏的“離婚預約”就是divorce appointment。“與某人預約”則可用make/fix an appointment with somebody來表示。例如：I made an appointment with my dentist for 4 pm today. （我今天下午四點約好要去看牙。）
過去，兩個人不管結婚還是離婚都需要各自的單位出具letters of introduction（介紹信），civil affairs bureau（民政局）纔會給辦理marriage/divorce registration（結婚/離婚登記）。如今，很多城市都已經simplify the divorce procedure（簡化離婚程序），getting a divorce on impulse（衝動離婚）的情況也屢見不鮮。離婚後又“復婚”可以用remarry someone或restore a marriage來表示。
