7月21日遭遇暴雨襲擊後，氣象部門預報稱北京25日到26日再次迎來大範圍降水。北京市國土資源局和氣象局25日9時25分聯合發佈地質災害黃色預警，北京全市將出現平均降雨量在30到50毫米的大雨，部分地區發生地質災害可能性很大。

Beijing Municipal Bureau of Land and Resources and Beijing Meteorological Bureau jointly issued the yellow alert for possible geological disasters of mud-slides, cave-in and landslip in mountainous areas in the districts of Fangshan, Mentougou, Huairou, Pinggu and Shijingshan, as well as Miyun county.

北京市國土資源局和氣象聯合發佈地質災害黃色預警，房山、門頭溝、懷柔、平谷、石景山及密雲部分淺山地帶發生泥石流、崩塌、滑坡等地質災害的可能性較大。

上文中的geological disaster就是“地質災害”，發佈此類預警的系統就是geological disaster warning system（地質災害預警系統），由四種顏色代表不同的預警級別，即color-coded warning system（顏色預警系統）。顏色預警共有四個級別，由低到高分別爲blue alert（藍色預警）、yellow alert（黃色預警）、orange alert（橙色預警）、red alert（紅色預警），是根據precipitation intensity（降水強度）來設定的。

我們來說說天氣預報中的各種“雨”：flurry（陣雨）、drizzle（小雨）、moderate rain（中雨）、rainstorm（暴雨）。降雨可能導致的地質災害有：mudslide（泥石流）、cave-in（崩塌）、landslip（滑坡）、soil sink（地面塌陷）等。
