1. 解詞釋義

Top是“最高的”，由此可見top dog就是狗羣裏地位最高的一個，即爲領頭的那一隻。中文裏“狗”往往帶有貶義，要把某人比作狗，這人會氣得發瘋。但是在英文中dog不帶有貶義，有時候還是個褒義詞。Top dog就是個例子，是指“居於支配地位的，有最高權力的人”，也就是“掌權人”。
