1. strenuous
2014年的流行語“蠻拼的”就翻譯成了pretty strenuous，有挺努力的意思，又有“即使已經很努力了，卻沒有成功”的反諷意味。
His doctor advised him not to do any strenuous exercise.
他的醫生建議他不要做任何劇烈運動。
2. arduous
arduous一詞源自於拉丁語arduus（險峻、困難）。

3. gruelling
gruelling形容“艱辛”的時候，一般還有這份工作或者任務會延續很長時間的意思。

4. punishing
這個詞表示”令人疲憊的“的時候，多和schedule連用，形容工作日程很繁重。
