澳大利亞一男子挖出巨大天然金塊

A gold nugget weighing more than four kilograms has been found in Victoria.

近日，維多利亞州發現了一塊重量超過四公斤的金塊。

According to metal detecting manufacturer Minelab, the discovery was made in a worked-over area on the southern edge of central Victoria's Golden Triangle.

根據金屬探測器製造商覓寶公司報道，這一發現的地點是在維多利亞州金三角中心南部邊緣的工作區。

It said the 145-ounce nugget, named Friday's Joy, could be worth up to $250,000.

據悉，這塊重達145盎司、被命名爲“星期五的歡樂”的天然金塊價值高達25萬美元。

The lucky prospector, who has chosen to remain anonymous, said he found the nugget 12 inches below the ground.

而該名幸運的勘探者並不願透露姓名，只是表示自己是在地下12英尺發現的這塊黃金。

"I thought it was rubbish at first, maybe an old horseshoe", he said. "As I began to scrape away the clay and dig deeper, I really couldn't believe my eyes - this wasn't an old piece of steel in front of me."

他說：“我起初以爲它是垃圾，或者是舊的馬蹄鐵。隨着我刮開土層，挖得更深，我簡直不敢相信我的眼睛，在我面前的並不是一塊廢鐵。”

Minelab said the prospector, who has used his weekends to search for gold and coins for the past 10 years, found a 9-ounce nugget the day before.

覓寶公司表示，這名勘探者在過去的10年裏會利用週末尋找金子和錢幣，而且就在一天前還發現了一塊9盎司重的金塊。

Rita Bentley from the Prospectors and Miners Association said the more recent find had caused excited around the world, and that many Victorian locals would be heading out into the bush.

來自勘探者和礦工協會的麗塔·本特利表示，這些較新的發現令全世界爲之激動，很多維多利亞州本地人將會前往叢林中。

"There'll be a lot of detectors dusted off that have been sitting in cupboards," she said. "I imagine there'll be a mini gold rush going on."

她說：“原本一直被放在櫥櫃裏的許多金屬探測器，將會被重新利用起來。我想這裏將會有一場小的淘金熱出現。”

The man said he planned to buy a van and travel around Australia after the finds. The nugget is being kept in a safe and a replica will be made.

在發現金塊之後，這名勘探者表示自己計劃買一輛麪包車環遊澳大利亞。而該金塊則被保存在了一個安全的地方，並會製造出一個仿製品。
