Luiz Felipe Scolari, Brazil's 2002 football World Cup-winning manager, is the new head of defending Chinese Super League champion Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao, the club said on Thursday.

中超聯賽衛冕冠軍廣州恆大淘寶隊4日宣佈，曾帶領巴西獲得2002年足球世界盃冠軍的教頭路易斯·菲利佩·斯科拉里將擔任俱樂部新教練。

Scolari signed a two-and-a-half year deal with the Chinese Super League champions just two weeks after quitting as manager of Brazil's Gremio.

斯科拉里辭去巴西格雷米奧隊教練之後僅僅兩週，就與恆大淘寶足球俱樂部簽訂了爲期兩年半的聘任協議。

The club did not explain in its announcement why Cannavaro the former coach was stepping down.

恆大淘寶俱樂部未在聲明中解釋前教練卡納瓦羅卸任的原因。

"According to the club' s strategic development needs, it was decided to appoint Mr Scolari as coach, and once again expresses its heartfelt thanks to the hard work of Mr Cannavaro," it said in a statement, stressing that winning more domestic and Asian games is its main goal.

該俱樂部在聲明中表示，"根據俱樂部戰略發展需要，特此決定聘任斯科拉里擔任教練，並再次衷心感謝卡納瓦羅所做出的卓越貢獻"，同時強調在國內和亞洲比賽中獲得更多的勝利是其主要目標。
