反譯小練習:嫦娥二號奔月 關鍵詞彙句型

口譯考試中的中譯英向來是難點，比起英譯中，中譯英難就難在英語並非母語，難以掌握詞義、語法等種種關鍵細節。反譯練習是以從英文翻譯過來的中文爲中譯英素材，通過自己的譯本與原汁原味的英文相比較，從而體會遣詞造句的要點。

2010年秋季中高口口試即將到來，我們來看看近期的熱點話題——嫦娥二號探月的相關英語表達吧：

反譯題目：
本週五，中國發射了第二個月球探測器。運載無人月球探測器的火箭於當晚七時，在中國西南部的四川西昌衛星發射中心發射升空。

發射之前，出於防備需要，發射中心周圍方圓2.5公里內超過2000名居民被疏散。

嫦娥二號的繞月飛行高度是15公里。它要爲嫦娥三號進行着陸測試，並提供着陸現場的高清照片。嫦娥二號預計在五天內進入月球軌道。

這裏的“無人月球探測器”、“發射”、“四川西昌衛星發射中心”、“高清照片”等，英文表達都要牢記。

總評：同學們提交的譯文中，出現的比較多的問題主要有：

1. 發射
新聞報道中出現的最常見的動詞是用launch、blast off、lift off，但是要注意的是，launch是及物動詞，blast和lift均是不及物動詞，所以要注意主動態和被動態的區分，例如：

China launched the second lunar probe/ China's second lunar probe was launched
China's second lunar probe blasted off/lifted off.

另外lift-off可以作爲名詞“發射”，launch本身也可以作爲名詞：

The launch of China's second lunar probe/The lift-off of China's second lunar probe

2. 疏散
大家給出的譯文中，出現了disperse、dispel和evacuate這三個動詞，evacuate是正確的，表達的就是這裏“疏散居民”的意思。而前兩個詞呢？查字典的話，給出的可能都有“疏散、驅散”的釋義，但是注意，disperse和dispel都表示“驅散、分散原本聚集在一起的人或物”，目的是“分散”，而evacuate表達的“疏散”指將某一處的居民遷移到另一處、空出這一處的土地或場地，這兩組動詞表達的是不同的目的，因此也就有不同的用途和語境，例如：

The crowd was dispersed. The fog was dispelled. The residents were evacuated.

看出區分了嗎？另外，dispel多指驅散物，或者抽象事物，如煙雲、煙霧、謠言、恐慌之類；而disperse可以表達驅散人羣。

3. 飛行高度
有同學將這裏的繞月飛行高度翻譯成altitude——注意，altitude一般指“海拔高度”，但是如果查字典的話是會查到有Absolute altitude 這個詞：the height of the aircraft above the terrain over which it is flying，飛行器的離地高度，這個詞也是航空術語，這裏爲什麼不能用呢？因爲absolute altitude的測量是要有一個標準平面作爲參照的，而這裏的繞月飛行高度並非一個絕對的概念——其實完全可以避開使用專業術語，尤其是在對其的使用範圍拿捏不準的情況下，直接就可以用height這個詞來表示。

在……之前還可以用ahead of …來表達

嫦娥二號的繞月飛行高度是15公里：Chang'e-2 is to orbit within 15 kilometers of the moon.
注意原文這裏完全避開了直接使用height這個詞，句式很巧妙，注意orbit的動詞用法——我們經常只會拿它當名詞使用。be to do sth.表達將來時概念，within 15 kilometers of the moon就表示離月球15公里的距離範圍以內。
