1) The worst thing that can happen to a company is bankruptcy. That is when the company loses all of its money and has to close its doors.

對於一個公司來說，能夠發生的最糟糕的事是破產。公司破產的時候就是公司的錢已經空了，不得不關門大吉的時候。

2) Another tragic, but common event is being deep in debt. After borrowing money, you must pay back the loan. However, if you don't have the money, you will have to borrow money from person B to pay back person A. This situation sends you deeper in debt.

另外一件悲慘的事情、但是很常見的事是公司陷入債務的泥潭中無法拔出來。在你借錢後就要面臨歸還貸款的那一天。然而當你沒有足夠的錢還款的時候，你就得從B某人那裏借錢用來還欠的A某人的錢。這種環環相扣的借錢還錢的狀況會使你的財政狀況變得更糟。

3) Having a huge surplus of goods can also be a bad thing. Most businesses work on a supply and demand system. If there is less of a product, you can sell it for a higher price. If there is too much of a product, you must sell it for less, thus losing money.

儲存大量的產品貨物也是一件糟糕的事情。大多數的商務工作都是基於一種供求體系。如果市場上的某一種貨物稀少，你就可以出高一些的價錢來出售。如果市場上某種貨物的供應很多，那麼你就需要以相對低的價格把貨物賣出去，這樣一來你得到的錢就少了一些。

Diologue: Business Trouble

Gordon: Howdy, how's business?

Molly: As well as can be expected since we are deep in debt.

Gordon: I am sorry to hear that. But didn't you say you had a surplus of your products?

Molly: Our surplus is hurting sales. Everyone already has one. No one is buying our products now.

Gordon: That sounds bad, really bad. Aren't you afraid of going bankrupt?

Molly: You hit the nail on the head. We are worried.

Gordon: I am sorry to hear that.

Molly: Not as sorry as we are.

Gordon: Let me know if you need a new job.

Molly: I have no plans of being unemployed. However, it may happen if we go broke.

Gordon: Try to keep a positive attitude.

Molly: I guess you are right. Thanks for the advice.

Gordon: Anytime.

商業危機

戈登：你好，你的生意進展得如何？

莫莉：就象可以預見到的，我們欠債了。

莫莉：很抱歉聽到這個消息。可是我記得你說過你的庫房裏有很多積壓的產品。

戈登：我們的積壓產品對銷售有百害而無一利。每個人都已經有了我們的產品，現在沒人再買我們的產品了。

莫莉：那聽上去太糟糕了，真的太糟糕了。難道你不害怕破產嗎？

戈登：你說到了我的痛處。我們現在很擔心這一點。

莫莉：我很抱歉聽到這個消息。
