Daniel: Hi Olga, how are you?
丹尼爾：嗨，奧爾加，你好嗎？Olga: Fine, Daniel, how are you?
奧爾加：我很好，丹尼爾，你怎麼樣？Daniel: Good, thanks. I wanted to ask you something. I'm really interested about Mexican holidays.
丹尼爾：我也很好，謝謝。我想問你件事。我對墨西哥節日非常感興趣。
Olga: What?
奧爾加：什麼？Daniel: Can you tell me something about it?
丹尼爾：你能給我介紹一下墨西哥的節日嗎？Olga: Sure but what do you want to know? I mean why are you interested in Mexican holidays?
奧爾加：好啊，你想了解什麼？我是問，你爲什麼對墨西哥節日感興趣？Daniel: What kind of holidays you have, what do you do in those holidays?
丹尼爾：墨西哥有什麼節日，你們在節日期間會做什麼？Olga: Well my favorite holiday is the Dìa de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead.
奧爾加：嗯，我最喜歡的節日是墨西哥亡靈節。Daniel: What is it?
丹尼爾：那是什麼？Olga: What do you think about when you hear Day of the Dead?
奧爾加：你聽到亡靈節的時候，想到了什麼？Daniel: I don't know. It's a bit scary, isn't it?
丹尼爾：我不知道。有點可怕，是吧？Olga: Yeah, kind of but actually for us Mexicans it's not really scary. We're so used to it. Actually that day we celebrate the, not celebrate but remember the people who are already dead especially in our close family.
奧爾加：是有點兒可怕，實際上對我們墨西哥人來說，這並不可怕。我們已經習慣了。這個節日是我們慶祝，不是慶祝，是紀念已故家庭成員的日子。Daniel: OK.
丹尼爾：好。Olga: We put an altar for them which is like a big table decorated with flowers, bread, coffee or whatever the person that is dead used to like and we think that on that day that person is going to come back from the dead.
奧爾加：我們會爲死者準備祭桌，在一張大桌子上放上鮮花、麪包、咖啡等逝去的人以前喜歡的食物和物品，因爲我們認爲逝去的人會在這一天回來。Daniel: Really?
丹尼爾：真的嗎？Olga: Yeah and visit us and maybe eat the food.
奧爾加：對，他們會回來看我們，可能還會吃我們準備的那些食物。Daniel: OK.
丹尼爾：好。Olga: It's on November first, the second too. The second, the altar is still there and after that we just take everything off and go on with our lives.
奧爾加：11月1日到2日是亡靈節。11月2日那天，祭桌還要擺在那裏，之後我們就可以把上面的東西拿走，繼續過我們自己的生活了。Daniel: You keep the altar only on the first and the second?
丹尼爾：只在11月1日和2日這兩天擺祭桌？Olga: Yeah.
奧爾加：對。Daniel: OK and do you do it just for your family or do you go and visit friends or other relatives?
丹尼爾：好，你們是隻紀念家人嗎？還是會去拜訪其他親戚朋友？Olga: No, we only keep it within the family actually.
奧爾加：不會，我們只紀念家人。Daniel: OK.
丹尼爾：好。Olga: Well sometimes we do it at school but still it's just like you know to keep the tradition but usually in the family.
奧爾加：有時我們也會在學校裏進行紀念活動，不過這只是爲了保持傳統，通常我們只紀念家人。Daniel: OK.
丹尼爾：好。Olga: Well another holiday I can think about is Easter. You have Easter too in Chile?
奧爾加：另一個我想介紹的節日是復活節。智利也有復活節吧？Daniel: Yes, we do have Easter.
丹尼爾：對，我們也有復活節。Olga: Easter we actually don't keep it traditional any more.
奧爾加：實際上，我們不再像以前那樣傳統地過復活節。Daniel: What do you mean?
丹尼爾：你是什麼意思？Olga: You know traditionally we make plays where we represent Jesus and the moment when he died and everything right? But you know we don't reflect about it any more. We just go on vacations to the beach and celebrate and you know go to concerts and stuff.
奧爾加：傳統上來說，我們會扮演耶穌，重現耶穌死亡的情景。不過現在，我們已經不再這樣做了。我們會去海灘享受假期，去聽音樂會，享受這個節日。Daniel: Just as Chilean people do.
丹尼爾：和智利人一樣。Olga: I guess it's kind of a trend now right?
奧爾加：我想這是現在的一種趨勢，對吧？Daniel: Yeah. We don't really think a lot about Easter.
丹尼爾：對。我們不太關心復活節了。Olga: Yeah.
