1. 解詞釋義

該習語的意思是“完蛋了”“劫數難逃”等。起源於一次大戰期間軍隊裏的行話，說his number is up的意思就是“他死了。”這裏的number是指“軍人的番號”。對話中的“His number is up.”的意思就是“他大爛臨頭了”。
