Friday has long been regarded as an unlucky day. People have this superstition probably because they believe that Jesus Christ was put to death on the cross on Friday, and also because Friday was for many years the day of execution of criminals, commonly called “hang-man’s day”. Some people will not start a trip on a Friday, especially if it is the 13th day of the month, since 13 men were present at the Last Supper.
