假驢肉惹風波 沃爾瑪將中國食品安全支出增兩倍
Wal-Mart, the world’s biggest retailer, is ready to put more money toward ensuring food safety in China.
世界最大的零售商沃爾瑪(Wal-Mart)準備投入更多資金確保在中國的食品安全。The superstore will increase its spending 300 million yuan ($48.32 million) over 2013, 2014 and 2015 to ensure it is meeting food standards in the Asian nation. That’s three-times the previously planned 100 million yuan over the same period, Reuters reported.
這家超市運營商將其在2013年、2014年和2015年的中國食品安全支出增至3億元人民幣(4,832萬美元),以確保達到這個中國的食品標準。路透社(Reuters)報道稱,這個金額是同期先前計劃投入金額1億元的3倍。Wal-Mart WMT -0.46% also plans to do more DNA testing on meat products and supplier inspections, as well as test more of its Chinese stores using two mobile safety labs.

China’s food and grocery market is expected to expand to $1.5 trillion by 2016, and Wal-Mart’s food safety reputation has become a concern in this important market after two recent incidents.
