各類英文數字的表達描述1.年份
關於四位數年份的讀法有下列幾種情形：
1)一般情況下，將表示年份的四個數字按前後分爲兩組，每一組的數字都按基數詞來讀。例如：
1865年讀作 eighteen sixty-five
1998年讀作 nineteen ninety-eight
2)如果前兩個數字爲非“零”數字，後兩位數分別爲“零”，則先讀出前兩位數，然後將後面的兩個“零”讀爲 hundred。例如：
1900年讀作 nineteen hundred
1800年讀作 eighteen hundred
3)第三個數字爲“零”(其他數字不是“零”)的年份的讀法應當將該“零”讀爲O[u]。例如：
1809年讀作 eighteen O nine
4)關於千年的一些讀法。
2000年讀作 two thousand
2008年讀作 two thousand and eight(或twenty O eight)
1008年讀作 one thousand and eight(或ten O eight)
另外，還有一些非四位數的年份，它們有兩種讀法：一種是按照基數詞的方法來讀，另一種是一個一個數字來讀。例如：

2.日期
英語日期的讀法、寫法和漢語不同，要注意區別。英語中年、月、日的表達方法是“月份+序數詞，年”。2001年4月2日應該寫成：April
2nd, 2001，讀成：April the second, two thousand and
one。一般情況下，序數詞是在基數詞後加-th，但有幾種特殊情況，可按下面規律來記：1、2、3單獨記(即first, second,
third)，8後少t，9少e(即：eighth, ninth)，5、12變ve爲fth(即fifth,
twelfth)，整十位數變y爲ie再加th(如twentieth)，二位以上只將個數變序數詞(如thirty-second)。
