Tom: No way.
Daniel: How many rolls are there?

Tom: Daniel, no luck. There are twenty-one.
Daniel: There goes the free lunch. Well, let's finish this and get the check.
Tom: But there is one more. That's not bad.

Daniel: Waiter, the check please.
Waiter: Fifty yuan, please. There is a ten percent discount for students. That makes the total of forty-five yuan.
Daniel: Here you are.
Waiter: Thanks. Have a nice day!

我們已經學習了英語中的五種時態，現在來看語態。英語中有兩種語態，主動語態和被動語態。現在我們來看一下各種時態的被動語態。
1.一般現在時的被動語態 am is are+過去分詞
The boy is called Daniel. 那個男孩叫丹尼爾。
You are invited to give us a talk. 邀請您給我們做個講座。
2.一般過去時的被動語態was, were + 過去分詞
I was given a present. 我收到了禮物。
Trees were planted every spring by us. 我們每年春天都種樹。
3.一般將來時的被動語態 will/shall be + 過去分詞
The job will be finished by him. 他很快就會完成工作了。
A new railway will be built in this city next year. 明年市裏將建新鐵路。
4.現在進行時的被動語態 am, is, are + being +過去分詞
A new cinema is being built here. 新的電影院正在修建。
Money is being collected for the project. 我們正在爲工程集資。
5.過去進行時的被動語態 was, were + being + 過去分詞
A meeting was being held when I was there. 會議舉行時我在那裏。
The pen was being used by May yesterday. 昨天阿美在用這支筆。
