put a face to the name------- 見到真人

大家好，歡迎來到小強英語。有時候我們聽過一個人的名字，但是卻沒有見過他真人。直到某一天，終於見到TA了。這時候你可以說：It's nice to finally put a face to the name.很高興，終於見到你本人了，終於知道你長什麼樣了。其中put a face to the name意思就是將某人的長相跟TA的名字“對上號”。比如：

Hi, so you’re Xiaoqiang. It’s nice to finally put a face to the name.
你就是小強吧。很高興見到你本人了。

假如事先聽過某人的聲音，但卻沒見到過TA，初次見面的時候可以說：It's nice to finally put a face to the voice.也就是將長相跟聲音對上號、見到真人的意思。比如：

Terry, right? I called you last night. It's nice to finally put a face to the voice.
你是Terry吧？我昨晚給你打過電話。總算見到你真容了。
