“do”是一個用法相當廣泛的詞，在很多時候，當你不知道該用什麼動詞來表達你的意思，何嘗不試試用“do”呢？“do”可以用來做很多東西：

You seldom do your homework. 你總是不做你的家庭作業。
I have a lot of laundry to do tonight. 我今晚要洗一大堆衣服。
Patience and perseverance will do wonders. 耐心和毅力可產生奇蹟。
I’ll do a translation for you. 我來幫你翻譯。
Who will do the cooking tomorrow? 明天誰做飯？
Are you doing science at school? 你在學校裏學科學嗎？
Please do the flowers, arrange them in vases. 請你插一下花。
Go and do your hair. 去梳梳頭。
Have you done your teeth? 你刷過牙了嗎？
I will do you next, sir. 下一個就輪到您了，先生。
I have a lot of correspondence to do. 我有很多信件要處理。

下次，當你很痛苦於不知道該用哪個動詞時，可以試試用這個萬能動詞“do”哦。

用“do”的過去分詞“done”表示完成：
The interior design for your apartment will be done by the weekend. 你公寓的室內設計會在這個週末完成。
Is your report done? 你的報告寫完了嗎？
Done, let’s go out and grab something to eat. 搞好了，現在出去吃點東西吧。

“…will do.”, “…won’t do.”的意思，表示可行，可以，或者不可行，不可以。
Can I bother you for a while, 5 minutes will do. 我能打擾你一會兒嗎？5分鐘就夠了。

--Would you like coffee or tea? 你想要點咖啡還是茶？
--Thanks, tea will do. 謝謝，來杯茶吧。

I’m afraid your proposal won’t do. 我恐怕你的提議行不通。
