世博會英語口語第2期:乘飛機旅行

Peter: You have to get to the airport at least two hours before the flight.
Sue: Why?
Peter: Because you need to check in.
Sue: What does that mean?
Peter: It means you give the airline your ticket and you get a boarding pass. Then they take your suitcase and put it on the plane?
Sue: Oh, I see. Umh, I don't really like it.

講解:

1. 這段對話講的是在機場要做的一些事情.首先你要至少提前兩個小時到機場, the airport,因爲有很多手續要辦,而且如果趕上人多的話,就更費時間了.
2. 第一步是要辦理登機手續,就是check in,要去給你的那次航班的航空公司去驗票,航空公司是airline,驗票後,你就可以拿到一張登機牌,boarding pass You need a boarding pass to get on an airplane. 只有拿到登機牌才能上飛機.上面會寫明你的座位號.
3. 然後你的行李就可以交給航空公司託運了.

Mike: So you like planes, Anne?
Anne: Sure, I like planes. But I don't really like long flights.
Mike: I don't, either. But when I do fly, I like to sit on the aisle.
Anne: Why? I'd want to sit by the window! It's fun to look out the window when the plane takes off and lands.
Mike: I'd rather sit on the aisle. Then I can get up and walk around. I can't sit still for a long time.

2. No way! 就是不會,不行的意思.在口語當中很常用.比如說: You want me to lend him five hundred bucks? No way! 你讓我借給他500塊錢?沒門!
3. 飛機起飛是The plane takes off. 飛機降落是The plane lands. The plane is about to take off /land in five minutes. Please fasten your seatbelt.飛機還有五分鐘就起飛了或者要降落了.請繫好安全帶.
