Scene 1

要點:be into somebody/something 口語表達,表示對……

Monica: She’s still kind of depressed because she broke up with her boyfriend.

Ross:Is this Hilary your hot assistant chef Hilary?

Monica: Yeah.

Ross: The one that stares at me when I come in?

Monica:No. The one who looked at you once because you got in her way.

Ross: Yeah, I could tell. She was into me. Why don’t you set us up?

Notes: into somebody/something

He’s so into riding a bicycle.

She is totally into that handsome guy.

2. set somebody up (with somebody)

Your friend is adorable. Can you set us up?

Anna wants to set you up with her friend.

She set up to be an authority on this project.

Scene 2

要點:We’ll see.

Rachel:Phoebe, Monica tripped me. I don’t think I can even run again, ever!

Phoebe:But we were having so much fun. All those cute guys were checking us out.

Rachel:I know. They were definitely staring.

Phoebe:Why? Why would you do that?

Monica:I don’t know. Rachel, I’m sorry I hurt your ankles.

Rachel:Ankle.

Monica:We’ll see.

If my flight is not delayed, I will come back early and join you. So we’ll see.

They checked out early in the morning to catch the train.

I have to check out these names and numbers to avoid any errors.

Check out this car, you should buy it.

I saw you grab your running shoes this morning and sneak out.

He sneaked out of the meeting and smoked outside.

Scene 3

We’ll get everything square away and you can come back later.

Notes:square away

I got everything squared away to travel to Prague.

Scene 4

Phoebe:Ross, where did you get this?

Ross: At Pottery Barn, okay?

Rachel:Oh my God, Pottery Barn has ripped off the design of our antique.

These shops rip off the tourists.

He ripped off the company of a million dollars.

What he bought is a rip -off, plain and simple.
