Apples and eyes? It has to do with love, listen:

蘋果和眼睛？這個短語和愛有關係，讓我們聽一聽。

Jack is a great dad. He is so attached to his daughter he would do anything for her.

傑克真是個好爸爸，他非常愛他的女兒，願意爲她做任何事情。

Wow, you are right about that. She sure is the "apple of his eye"!

喔，沒錯。她可是他的心肝寶貝。

"Apple of his eye" means a person, or thing, is precious, or loved deeply.

"Apple of his eye"的意思是某人或某事很珍貴，深受別人喜愛。

The center of one's eye, the pupil, is dark and round.

眼睛的中心是瞳孔，瞳孔是暗色的、圓形的。

This phrase comes from long ago when people believed that the eye's pupil was solid and shaped like an apple.

這個短語很久之前就有了，那時人們相信瞳孔是立體的、形狀像蘋果一樣。

And of course, the pupil was precious, because you can't see without it.

當然，瞳孔很珍貴，因爲沒有它，你什麼也看不到。
