There are five peas in a bean pod. When they are mature, a small boy picks it and opens it.
在一個豆莢裏，長着五顆豌豆。當它們成熟了的時候，一個小男孩撿到了它們。
The small boy puts the first one into an air gun.
小男孩把第一課豌豆放進一支氣槍裏。
"Ping" …the pea is shot out. It says happily: I will fly to the sky!
“砰”的一聲，豌豆射了出去。這顆豌豆歡呼着說：“我要飛上天上去啦。”
The small boy asks the second one: where do you want to go?
小男孩問第二顆豌豆：“你想到哪裏去呀?”
The second pea says: I want to fly to the Sun.
豌豆說：“我想到太陽上去。”
So, the second one is shot out, who says: I will fly to the sun!
於是，第二顆豌豆被射了出去，它一邊飛一邊喊着：“我要飛到太陽身邊去了。”
The third one and the forth one are afraid to be put into the air gun. They scoot away.
第三顆、第四顆豌豆怕被裝進氣槍裏，就悄悄地溜走了。
The small boy gets out the fifth one and asks it: where do you want to go?
小男孩拿出第五顆豌豆，問：“你想到哪裏去呀?”
The fifth one says: I want to go to a place where I can bring happiness to others.
豌豆說：“我想到能爲別人帶來歡樂的地方去。”
The small boy puts it into the air gun and says: you are considerate! He pulls the trigger and the pea flies into a flower pot. The flower pot's owner is poor. The mother has a sick daughter, who has been ill for years. The girl is very weak and looks miserable.
小男孩把豌豆裝進氣槍裏說：“你是最關心別人的!”小男孩一扣扳機，豌豆就飛到了一個窗臺上的花盆裏。花盆的主人家是一戶窮人，媽媽帶着一個生病的女兒。小姑娘已經病了一年多了，身體非常虛弱，看起來十分可憐。
One day, Mum goes out to work. The little girl lies by the flowers pots on the balcony in the sun. The bud stretches out its leaves, which seem to dance and it tells the little girl: you will get better!
這天，媽媽又出去幹活了。小姑娘孤獨地躺在牀上。忽然，她發現窗臺上的花盆裏長出了一顆小嫩芽。太陽照在小嫩芽上。微風吹過，小嫩芽舒展着自己的葉子，像是在跳舞，又像是在告訴小姑娘：“你的病會好的!”
When Mum comes back, the little girl says: mum, I found a little shoot. Mum says: oh, it is a little pea shoot. How do you feel today? I feel mush better! In the sun, I feel warm and comfortable. I will soon be well. Mum says happily: I hope my daughter will grow up as this little pea shoot! So, mum puts a bamboo stick there and ties a string so that the shoot can grow along it.
媽媽晚上回來的時候，小姑娘高興地說：“媽媽，今天我發現了一顆小嫩芽。它說我的病會好的。”媽媽說：“噢，那是一顆豌豆苗，你今天感覺怎麼樣啊?”小姑娘說：“我感到好多了!太陽照在我身上。”媽媽高興地說：“但願如此啊!我的女兒會像這顆豌豆苗一樣歡快地成長!”於是，媽媽用一根小竹竿把豌豆苗支撐起來，又從上面牽了一根線，好讓豌豆苗盤繞這向上長。
From then on, the little girl lies beside the little pea plant, talks with it and sings songs for it. The pea plant grows day by day. Little by little the girl also recovers.
從此，小姑娘每天都陪着豌豆苗，和它說話，爲它唱歌。豌豆苗一天天長大了，小姑娘的病也一天天好了。
Finally, the pea plant blooms. It has a brilliant pink flower. The little girl kisses it. She smiles healthily and happily; her eyes shine; she thanks God for sending her the beautiful angel—the pea flower. Mum says: thank you, pea flower! You made my daughter happy and help her fight the sickness and get well!
終於，豌豆苗開花了。粉紅色的豌豆花鮮豔極了。小姑娘把臉貼近花瓣，輕輕地親吻這。她的臉上露出健康幸福的微笑。她的眼睛閃閃發亮。她在心裏感謝上帝派來的美麗天使——豌豆花。媽媽高興地說：“非常感謝你呀，豌豆花!你使我的女兒充滿了歡樂。使她戰勝了疾病，重新健康起來!”
Then, the little boy passes by the window. The pea flower waves its branches, and seems to say: Look! I fulfilled my promise. I am such a happy flower!
這時，玩氣槍的小男孩從窗下經過。豌豆花輕輕地搖了搖枝條，好像是在說：“瞧，我實現了我自己的諾言。我是最幸福的豌豆花!”

The peas grew bigger and bigger. One day, a boy picked the pod. "We'll soon see the world!' said the peas. They were very excited.
就這樣小豌豆們慢慢長大。有一天，一個男孩兒撿起了這個住着五個小豌豆的豆莢。“我們很快就要去闖世界啦!”豌豆們說。它們非常的興奮。
The boy took the peas out of the pod. "You'll make good bullets(子彈)." he said.
男孩兒把豌豆取出來說道，“讓你們做彈弓的子彈不錯。”
(於是男孩兒把豌豆裝進彈弓)
"I'll see the world." said the first pea.
"I'll fly to the sun." said the second pea.
”我將要闖世界啦!“第一個豌豆說道。
”我要飛向太陽啦!“第二個豌豆也說。
The third and the fourth peas were lazy. "We're happy anywhere. We only want to sleep." they said.
The fifth pea said,"I'll do something useful.'
第三個和第四個很懶，它們說：”我們去哪都行，我們只想睡覺。"
而第五個豌豆卻說：”我要做些有用的事。“
One by one, the peas flew into the sky.
一個接一個，小豌豆們被射向了天空。
The first pea fell on a roof, and a bird ate it.
第一個豌豆掉到了屋頂上，一隻鳥吃了它。
The second pea fell into some water.
第二個豌豆掉進了水了。
The third and fourth peas fell into a yard, and two chickens ate them.
第三個和第四個掉進了一個院子，兩隻雞吃掉了它們。
the fifth pea hit a window and fell on the ground. Soon it grew into a plant with some green leaves.
第五隻豆子打在了窗子上，然後掉到了地上。很快它長成了一株有綠色葉子的豌豆苗。
A girl was ill. She looked out of her window and saw the plant. "The pea is growing bigger and taller. It must be strong. I'll try to do the same." she said.
一個生病的女孩兒看到了窗外的這株豌豆樹苗。”豌豆長的越來越大，越來越高。它一定很強壯，我要試着和它一樣。“她說。
A few weeks later, the girl got well. Her mother said,"Thank you, little pea."
沒過幾周時間，這位女孩兒病好了，她的媽媽對着豌豆樹苗說：”謝謝你，小豌豆。“... ...
