公務員禁止兼職社會組織 半年內需辭去其一

In-service civil servants who head foundations or social service organizations should either resign from social organizations or from public service within six months, according to a guideline issued on social organizations last Sunday.

The General Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued the new rules to encourage social organizations to play their role in the country's development.

The guideline said that social organizations have contributed to society's development, but problems such as an unclear management system and lack of government guidance remain.

In-service civil servants are not allowed to head foundations and social service organizations, and the retired civil servants can only head one, according to the guideline.
