文在寅表示願會晤金正恩

South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in said he would be open to a summit with Kim Jong Un, North Korea’s supreme leader, and said that de-nuclearisation of the peninsula would be the ultimate objective.

韓國總統文在寅(Moon Jae-in)表示，他對與朝鮮最高領導人金正恩(Kim Jong Un)舉行峯會持開放態度，並稱半島無核化將是終極目標。

The comments came on Wednesday as Mr Moon reiterated his country’s adherence to international sanctions on Pyongyang amid concerns that thawing ties between the two Koreas could reduce pressure on the reclusive regime.

文在寅週三發表此言的同時，重申了韓國將遵守國際對朝制裁。現在有人擔心朝韓關係解凍可能會減輕與世隔絕的朝鮮政權承受的壓力。

“South Korea will continue to keep pace with the pressure and sanctions by the international community. We have no plans to ease our unilateral sanctions against North Korea,” he said.

“韓國將在對朝施壓和制裁問題上與國際社會繼續保持步調一致。我們不考慮單獨放寬對朝制裁，”他說。

A day earlier, officials from the foreign ministry in Seoul said they would consider temporarily lifting sanctions on certain North Korean officials to allow them to visit South Korea for the winter games.

一天前，韓國外交部官員表示，他們將考慮暫時解除對某些朝鮮官員的制裁，以允許他們來韓國出席冬奧會。

Mr Moon also reiterated an earlier offer to meet Mr Kim, but added that he would not hold a summit for the sake of a summit.

文在寅也重申了他早先一項與金正恩會晤的提議，但他補充道，他不會爲舉行峯會而舉行峯會。

He then thanked Donald Trump, saying the US president’s strategy of heaping pressure on Pyongyang may have brought the regime to the negotiating table.

接着，他對唐納德?特朗普(Donald Trump)表示了感謝，稱也許是這位美國總統對朝施加巨大壓力的戰略把朝鮮政權推向了談判桌。

“The dialogue between South Korea and North Korea has begun. We plan to turn this dialogue into a chance to improve South-North Korea relations and also resolve the North Korean nuclear issue through dialogue,” Mr Moon said.

“韓朝對話已經開始。我們打算把這次對話變爲改善韓朝關係的機會，並通過對話解決朝核問題，”文在寅說。

Among the discussions on Tuesday, South Korean negotiators raised the issue of North Korea ending its nuclear weapons programme — comments that drew a rebuke from Pyongyang’s chief delegate.

在週二的會談中，韓國談判代表提出了朝鮮終止核武計劃的話題——此言引來朝方首席談判代表的責難。

“North Korea’s weapons are only aimed at the United States, not our brethren, China or Russia,” said Ri Son Gwon, head of the North Korean delegation.

“朝鮮的武器只瞄準美國，而不是我們的同胞、中國或俄羅斯，”朝鮮代表團團長李善權(Ri Son Gwon)表示。
