墨西哥世界最胖男子將接受醫療減重

The world's most obese man in Mexico is about to undergo weight-loss treatment, local media reported last Wednesday.

據墨西哥當地媒體上週三報道，墨西哥一位號稱“世界最胖的男人”將要接受減肥治療。

Juan Pedro Franco, 32, weighing nearly half a ton, was transported by a specially-adapted van from his hometown of Aguascalientes in central Mexico, to a private clinic in the city of Guadalajara in western Mexico.

胡安·佩德羅·佛朗哥今年32歲，體重約半噸。日前一輛特別改裝過的貨車將他從家鄉墨西哥中部城市阿瓜斯卡連特斯運到了墨西哥西部城市瓜達拉哈拉的一傢俬人診所。

"To date, there has been no patient on the planet that weights this much," his surgeon Jose Antonio Castaneda Cruz said.

他的醫生喬斯·安東尼奧·卡斯塔尼達·克魯茲表示：“目前爲止，地球上還沒有哪個病人像他那麼重。”

Franco, who suffers from morbid obesity, diabetes and hypothyroidism, "was in a good mood last night as photo and video cameras filmed his admission to the clinic," the daily El Debate said on its website.

據《每日辯論報》網站上的新聞稱，佛朗哥患有病態肥胖症、糖尿病和甲狀腺機能減退症，不過當昨晚記者們拍攝他進入診所的時候，他的心情看起來很好。

"He took his cellphone and snapped several photos of the reporters, and said jokingly, 'this is so you know how it feels,'" the daily said.

《每日辯論報》報道稱：“他拿起自己的手機給記者們拍了幾張照片，還開玩笑地說道'讓你們也嚐嚐這個滋味'。”

Castaneda told reporters the plan is to have Franco lose some weight over the next six months to prepare him for bariatric surgery.

卡斯塔尼向記者們透露，治療計劃是先讓佛朗哥在接下來半年裏減輕一些重量，從而爲他的減肥手術做準備。

"We are being cautious. We are seeing how much weight he can lose in order to operate on him," Castaneda said.

卡斯塔尼說道：“我們非常謹慎。我們正在考慮要先讓他減輕多少重量才能夠給他做手術。”

"Due to the difficulty of the trip, his glucose levels are out of control," he added.

他接着說道：“由於舟車勞頓，他的血糖水平失去了控制。”

Franco contacted the clinic after coming across their weight-loss treatments online.
