英語不定冠詞講解：不用冠詞的場合（二）

冠詞是一種虛詞，本身有一定的含義，主要放在名詞前起限定作用(前置定語)，大約70%的名詞前面必須用冠詞，但在中文看來冠詞大多數是多餘的，因此要養成用冠詞的習慣，一定要加強訓練。

4.不用冠詞的場合

少數名詞前不使用冠詞，主要是以下幾種情況：

4.6家人、親戚的稱呼、頭銜作稱呼時，頭銜和姓、姓名連用時不用冠詞

Mother, Father, Brother, dinner’s ready.

媽媽，爸爸，哥哥，晚飯準備好了。

Uncle, will you come again?

叔叔，你還會來嗎?

Doctor, do I need injections?

醫生，我需要打針嗎?

President Obama is coming to visit China.

奧巴馬總統要來訪問中國了。

Secretary General Annan plays an important role.

安南祕書長起重要作用。

Professor, I have one question.

教授，我有一個問題。

4.7“人名/地名+大學”的機構名前不用冠詞

New Your University紐約大學

Houston University休斯頓大學

Cambridge University劍橋大學

Zhongshan University中山大學

4.8好些習慣用法中不用冠詞

have breakfast/lunch/dinner吃早餐/中餐/晚餐

at noon/night/dawn在中午/夜晚/黎明

face to face面對面

step to step逐步地

from top to bottom從頂部到底部(上上下下)

on end連續地

day by day一天地

注意：下面幾個名詞前加定冠詞與不加定冠詞的意思不同

1)不加冠詞時表示該名詞所指場所的作用、功能

go to bed去睡覺

go to school去上學

go to college去上大學

go to church去做禮拜

go to hospital去看病

go to prison入獄

go to court上法庭

go to university上大學

2)加上冠詞時則表示與該名詞所指地方的作用無關的其他含義

go to the school去學校

go to the bed去牀邊

go to the church去教堂

go to the hospital去醫院

go to the prison去監獄

go to the court去法庭
