Task 1

學校計劃provide students more entertainments and 三種選擇 provided below. 你傾向於哪個?爲什麼?

A theater 表演 by the student actors/A concert provided by professional 音樂人/A lecture from a 教授

Personally, I think a concert provided by professional musicians is definitely going to be my choice. First off, when watching a live concert, you get to interact with the singer, and you are actually participating. It can improve my mood and raise my spirit. It also involves lots of standing, jumping, dancing, and it helps to burn my calories. Additionally, going to the concert can be a great way to release my destructive emotions, like anger, sorrow and even rage. I can forget about my busy life and study and get a chance to switch off and unwind.

Task 2

你同不同意 with the following statement? 朋友 may disagree with each other, and 仍然保持友誼.

Well, personally, I agree with this statement. To begin with, the most important thing when choosing a friend is whether or not he or she is a decent and genuine person and it has nothing to do with the opinions and perspectives he or she holds. People can have different views and ideas on social and political issues, and they might have different hobbies, likes and dislikes, however, we still can be friends with people who might disagree with us. For example, I believe that the top priority of university is to attend social activities, which is very conducive to developing social skills. However, my friend Alex believes students should focus on schoolwork. Even though, we have different opinions on this issues, however, we are still friends.

Task 1

You 需要 do a presentation. Which one of the following would you choose? 表演 a scene from a play with 一個搭檔/ review of a novel you 最近讀的/read a selection of 一首詩.

Well, I would say I'd like to act out a scene from a play with a partner. Acting out a scene can be very appealing to audience since there is an interesting storyline and it involves lots of emotional expressions, interesting lines and interaction between my partner and I. Thus, the audience will be attracted and keep their attention for a long time. However, reviewing a novel and reading a poem can be very boring since both of them are monologues, there is no interaction. I think it is just a matter of time before the audience get distracted.

Task2

Some like to work in a 小公司or organization with a few 員工. Others prefer to work in a 大公司或機構with thousands of employees. Which do you think is better?

Personally, I would say it is better to work in a small company. First off, it is much easier to build deeper connection with my co-workers since there is only a few of them. If I work in a small company, I happen to know every single person, even their families and friends. Thus, I can get a stronger sense of belonging to the company. Additionally, in a small company there is no rigid rules and regulations. Generally speaking, I can enjoy more flexible working time when working in a small company. I don't have to feel pressured to clock in at the last minute.

Task2

你同意不同意 with the following statement:entertainment technology leaves less time for people to 讀書 for pleasure.

Personally, I agree with this statement and people do spend less time reading books. First off, with the development of high tech gadgets like smart phone, tablet, laptops, it is very easy for people to have access to lots of entertainment like watching a movie, listening to music, and even playing on-line games. Additionally, entertainments brought by technology are very enjoyable and addictive, for instance, the visual effects of lots of video games are very vivid, and it is really tough for one to stop once he or she starts to play the game. Thus, people spend too much time consuming these types of technology and don't have time to read for pleasure.
