Part 1

Paintings

What do you know about paintings?

I barely know anything. There are several kinds of paintings like oil painting and water colour painting, and that’s all I know.

Have you learned drawing before?

I used to draw some comics and sketches, but I’ve never learned drawing or painting in a systematical way. If I have a chance I’d love to learn it.

Is it important to hang pictures at home?

I think it’s quite personal. It depends on individuals whether to hang pictures or not and what pictures to hang. Pictures can serve as a good decoration, and famous pictures and paintings are precious collections.

What kind of paintings do you like?

To be specific, I like the paintings of Monet. Although I don’t know much about paintings, but Monnet’s works can always calm me down. I can feel the sense of beauty and tranquility from his paintings.

If someone wants to draw a picture of you, would you agree?

Yes, why not? It’s fun to see how I look like on canvas. And I would look very differently in different painting styles, that’d be interesting.

Part 2 & 3

Part 2題目

Describe an indoor or outdoor place where it was easy for you to study

You should say:

Where it is

When you go there

Who you go with

What you study there

Why you would study in this place.

When it comes to talking about a place I’d like to study, I think it must be the library in my university. It is a huge building with 8 floors, which was completed nearly 10 years ago. As it is located in the center of my campus, no matter where you are, you can get there quite easily.

I go there very often, nearly on a daily basis. Whenever I don’t have a class, I prefer to go there in the evening, but sometimes also in the morning or the afternoon. It quite depends. What I study there also depends on the assignments that I have to work on. When I finished all of the tasks, I tend to randomly pick a book from the shelf and start reading.

I usually go to the library by myself, because I believe study is quite a personal thing. I don’t like to talk with others or share the feelings after reading a book. But before the final week, I would go there with my friends, because I need their help to do the review.

I think the library is a perfect place to study. Firstly, it is relatively quiet. People consciously keep their voice down and slow their pace. There is no one to interrupt me. Secondly, it has a unique atmosphere. With thousands of books around, I feel most comfortable around books and quietness. The library is just like my second habitat.

EgWith his huge body, he overbore his opponent under him dead.

on a daily basis: 詞組;每天

EgI have to prepare for bad weather on a daily basis, so I wear biking clothes and change when I get to my destination.

EgHe took a book from the shelf.

EgSo we keep putting them into zoos to protect them from poachers, as well as from habitat destruction.

 Part 3題目

1. Do you like to learn on your own or with others?

I’d like to study on my own, because I believe study is quite a personal thing. I don’t like to talk with others or share the feelings after reading a book. But before the final week, I would go there with my friends, because I need their help to do the review.

①on my own 詞組;靠自己

Eg: You never allow personal problems to affect your performance.

2. Do you prefer to study at home or study in other places?

I prefer to study in the library, because it’s a perfect place for study. Firstly, it is very quiet. People consciously keep their voice down and slow their pace. There is no one to interrupt me. 3. What’s the difference between learning face-to-face with teachers and learning by yourself?

Comparing with learning face-to-face with teachers, independent learning is more student-driven. As a self-learner, they can simply focus on what they want to learn, and what skills they need to develop. However, face-to face study can provide the chance to communicate with teachers and get reasonable feedbacks from them.

Eg: She met the president face-to-face.

Eg: It’s a perfectly reasonable decision.
