A: My grandmother is very feeble.
B: She does look frail. How old is she?
A: She is over 90 years old. She can barely walk and when she talks it’s very faint.
A: 我奶奶身體很虛弱。
B: 她看起來的確很虛弱。她多大歲數了?
A: 九十多了。她幾乎走不動路，說話也有氣無力。
【語言點精講】
feeble: 虛弱的，衰弱的，軟弱的。
frail: 體質虛弱的;嬌弱的。
over: 超過。
barely: 幾乎不。
faint: 微弱的，色彩或音量模糊的。

A: Don’t make lame excuses. Let’s go to the movie.
B: I want to see the movie with you, but my parents want me to go see my cousin’s performance. I feel powerless to disobey them.
A: Don’t be spineless. Just tell your parents we already made plans weeks ago and you can’t make the performance.
B: I’m always week when it comes to my parents and find it hard to tell them “no.”
A: 別再找蹩腳的藉口了。我們去看電影吧。
B: 我真想和你去，可我父母希望我去看錶妹的演出。我覺得不能不聽他們的話。
A: 別那麼軟弱。就跟他們說我們幾個星期前就約好了，你不能去看錶妹的演出了。
B: 在我父母面前我強硬不起來，覺得很難對他們說不。

powerless: 無能力的，無能量的。完全沒辦法。
spineless: 沒有勇氣的;不敢做決定的;無骨氣的。
disobey: 不服從，違反。
