很多時候，一些談判和商討都是在餐桌上完成的，那麼今天就讓我們來介紹一下西方的宴客方式都有哪些。
Seated dinners 宴會（較正式，嘉賓每人都有各自固定的席位）
Buffet dinners 自助餐（也稱冷餐會）
Cocktail parties 雞尾酒會 （時尚發佈會後經常舉辦類似酒會）
BYOB and BYOF=Bring your own bottles and bring your own food 聚餐會（較隨意）
Receptions 招待會

情景對話：如何用英語請客？
Friends like to treat each other
當你想請別人吃一個冰淇淋時，該如何說呢？很簡單，只要一句“I'll treat you to ice cream.”就行了。這天，Susan就請她的中國朋友Maymay和Lin到快餐館吃飯。
S: Here we are. This is my favourite place.
M: How many times have you come here?
S: I never counted.
L: I'd like to sit near the window.
S: Please be seated. It's my treat today.
M: Fast food restaurants are popular now.
L: They are popular for quick, inexpensive meals or snacks.
S: What would you like to eat?
L: I'll try a steak sandwich with a hamburger.
M: Sounds good. I think I'll have the same.
S: Want something to drink?
L: Coke, please.
M: A cup of hot chocolate would be fine.

英語裏“請客”的幾種說法
北方人多半是熱情大方的。同學聚會的時候人人都嚷着"我請客"，搶着付賬。那麼，這個"請客"用英語該怎麼說呢？耐心看下去，就會發現答案了。
1. It's on me.
這句話的意思就是"我請客"。如果Waiter送一些免費的小菜，他會說：It's on the house. 店老闆請客，意思就是"免費贈送"。
還記得在電影Duplex中，Alex 問Starbucks裏的女店員能不能讓他在店裏寫完那本書，女店員就說到：Be my guest. 意思就是"別客氣"。Be my guest. 也可以用來表示"我請客"。
2. It's my treat.
見了treat，別以爲它只有"對待"的意思，它還可以表示"款待、招待"，比如你和別人打賭，輸了之後，You had to treat her to an ice cream. 你不得不請她吃冰淇淋。不過款待人，也不一定總是要"吃吃喝喝"，也可以來點高雅的，比如說I'll treat you all to a little piano specialty of my own. 我要請大家聽一首我特地自譜的鋼琴曲，這種招待客人的方式還真是夠水平的。當然treat還有"名詞"的身份，表示"請客、做東"，所以如果你想表示"我做東，我請客"，就拍拍胸脯說：It's my treat. 或是I want to treat you.
3. Let me foot the bill.
這裏的foot真是和"英尺"、"腳"沒有任何關係了，在老外的口頭語中，foot可以做動詞，表示"支付帳單或費用"，就相當於Let me pay the bill. （來源：互聯網）
